Lewis Hamilton extended his Championship lead by 19 points as Red Bull overtakes Ferrari for second place in the Constructors’ Championship.
Pole sitter Nico Rosberg was handed a 5 second penalty for a rather controversial pass at the hairpin over Max Verstappen for third place. Rosberg took the penalty during his last pit-stop but an error with a stopwatch ended up stopping him 3.6 seconds longer than needed.
"I thought it was a good battle [with Verstappen]. I was very surprised I got penalised, I didn't expect that at all." commented Rosberg after the race.
