FP3 - Rosberg on top after red-flagged practice
Nico Rosberg led the way ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean in another session cut short following two red flags, first after Felipe Nasr hit the wall, then after Jenson Button stopped on track. Hamilton was last.
Mixed reactions from Mercedes after all the final practice ahead of qualifying - Nico Rosberg got his lap in with supersofts, while Lewis Hamilton failed to complete a representative lap, and had two runs locking up.
The session ran smoothly in the first half, with sunny - but cooler - conditions, until Felipe Nasr crashed into the Casino Straight wall while warming up his tyres, and the first red flag was waved. He was confirmed ok.
The session then restarted with just over 10 minutes and Jenson Button stopped his car on track after turn 7. He radioed in they had a "bigger problem" than power loss, and Boullier confirmed he will miss qualifying as they need an engine change. Fernando Alonso also had an engine change previous to the practice.
The third practice would not be restarted and left Rosberg P1 ahead of a Ferrari, a Lotus, and Valtteri Bottas’s Williams.
Right before the session we learned Max Verstappen, as he now has a new penalty (10 places) after an engine change. He now faces a 15-place sanction following his Monaco penalty.
