Lewis Hamilton led every lap to win the Italian Grand Prix, beating Sebastian Vettel and Felipe Massa, as team-mate Nico Rosberg suffered an engine blowout with two laps to go.

"Look at this crowd, incredible; this team is just remarkable. What we’ve achieved together is so special!" said Hamilton in the podium interview. Meanwhile, Vettel had words in Italian, "I know Italian is not my language but today parlo italiano, siete incredibili, e' una emozione grandissima".

For Hamilton, the win means he extends his championship lead to 53 points over Rosberg; however Mercedes was summoned post race for a tyre pressure violation.

Ferrari’s dream to have both cars on the podium became impossible after Kimi Raikkonen stalled in front of the grid and fell to 18th place. Raikkonen would make a comeback and eventually get passed Sergio Perez on the last lap to finish 5th.

Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas had a strong race for Williams, running together in P4 and P5 for most of the race, and battled for the last place of the podium after Nico Rosberg’s car retired in flames.

It was also a good race for the Red Bull team, as penalty-hit Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat came from the back to get both cars in the podium. Marcus Ericsson also managed two more points for Sauber.

The race was particularly a disaster for Lotus F1 Team, with both cars going out on the very first lap. Romain Grosjean reported a possible suspension issue, while Pastor Maldonado had damage from the kerbs.
